this also applies to discord messages, or youtube comments or whatever. anything that typically is only like a sentence long. with that said i sometimes make youtube comments or discord messages over a sentence long. there's layers to this yknow ?
ok. first thing. i almost never use capitalization. you may notice this also applies to my (slightly) more formal writing here! the exception is when i feel like it. not at the start of a sentence or for nouns typically but all caps for emphasis sometimes. i also sometimes capitalize the first letters of certain Words of Importance. this is for a reason but it's like 90% vibes and i can't explain it.
that last one makes more sense if you've seen the video it's quoting.

ok second thing. i rarely use punctuation despite the fact that doing so makes everything harder to understand. even that last sentence should've had a comma but i chose not to use one because it better represents how i would say it out loud. also big exception for quotation marks, question marks, exclamation marks, that kinda stuff. you really can't get by without it.
first one should say "yeah, idk if you noticed, but record labels aren't in it for the love of the art." second one should say "twitter or something. idk, i've never played that game." also notice that i only sometimes use apostrophes for contractions. if i do use one, it's either due to my phone's autocorrect, because i was typing on a computer and did it out of habit, or rarely because i just felt like it.
i also try to avoid using periods even in situations where i otherwise use decent grammar. mostly a vibes thing. you'll see this a lot in my youtube comments where i need to use multiple sentences but omit the period for the last one. this makes it less formal in my mind.
NOTE: i cannot for the life of me find an example of me doing this. will add one when i do it again or remember.
i also tend to break stuff up into a lot of messages. pretty sure everyone does this in texts tho.
i also hate to edit my messages. my reasoning for this is that it makes it hard to understand what's going on if you're reading the conversation in hindsight, which is kinda flimsy but i stand by it. i just add corrections in additional messages after. this doesn't specify what part of the message i'm correcting but i think it's usually clear enough.

elipses... there is a certain way of expressing a thought that can only be achieved by using elipses... like yeah i could restructure my thoughts and my sentence to avoid it but i could also just. not do that.
